FATAMORGANA
A series of posters.
Graphic design course, third year.
Fatamorgana is a project born out of a study on the "tunnels people" - over 1,000 homlesses living in the drainage canals just below the strip of hotels and casinos in Las Vegas.
Beneath the "sins city" that embodies the utopia of the American dream, there is the real city of sins, which embodies the exact reversal and consequences of those desires.
Out of this, the project deals with passions and illusions, the glittering and the fake, the destructive instinct and the failure of the American dream idea.

The project is based on a study of the writings of the philosopher Jean Baudrillard (”Amérique”), who used the desert as a metaphor of America in its purest form.
I chose to refer to the desert visions- "Fata-morgana" and talk about the American dream from these visions, whose urban representation is in the dazzling lights, the wandering and searching gait, the thirst for fulfillment, realization and ecstatic experience.
